Chateau de Malleret
Chateau Malleret is a Cru Bourgeois of 54 hectares in the appellation Haut-Medoc, in the town of Pian Medoc . Partially built under Louis XIV , the manor came into the hands of the Clossmann family. They were important wine merchants based in Bordeaux since 1770. Recently they separated the wine trade and the castle, and sold it to the family Oberkampf.
The vineyards are dominated by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with a littlebit of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The vineyards are divided into three large areas on well-drained plots. Throughout the year, a great and tireless team works to produce wine at the high standards of a Cru Bourgeois.
Wine is not the only activity of this prestigious castle : hunting is practiced here and every year the finest horseparades of southwestern France are held.
