After taking over the family domains (Le Bon Pasteur, Rolland-Maillet and Bertineau) in 1979 , Michel and Dany Rolland began to develop their consulting activities that have made them famous. In 1986 they bought a domain in the municipality of Saillans, in the heart of the Fronsac appellation.
This appellation, whose fame was waning for some time by the influence of the famous appellations St Emilion and Pomerol, actually offers excellent opportunities. The complete renovation of the wine cellar of the newly acquired domain ended in the autumn of 1990. The property now has modern facilities and is suitable for production of quality wines: double sorting table, thermo-regulated small tanks, -Wood and stainless steel cuves.
Located on south-facing slopes overlooking Libourne and the beautiful valley of the River Isle, the 9-hectare big vineyard stretches out on clay-limestone soils. The grape varieties are made up of Merlot (90%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%).
The average age of the vines is 40 years.
